your miranda IM addon for window eyes

How do you know if your running the Unicode or ANSI version of Miranda anyway?
I just downloaded v0.8.13 on the "download" link from the website, it didn't say
anything about Unicode or ANSI. *shrugs*

my main question is, do you need Mespeak if we're using Window Eyes?
I'm sorta confused about all this, Miranda IM has so many options and addons
its crazy, like the SRMM, tabSRMM, I don't know what all that means?
and I considered myself a blind IT professional. lol

do you like recaptcha? because with my experiences with it on my own blog,
the audio version only speaks numbers, and the box only accepts whats on the screen,
so I never found it useful for us blind folks

Greetings, The Unicode

Greetings,

The Unicode version is the one that is listed as being for Windows 2000/XP/Vista, while the ANSI builds are for Windows 9x. You don't need eSpeak for Miranda; just the SRMM plugin for displaying the correctly formatted message windows, and the CListBlind plugin if you prefer to see your contacts in a listbox.

I researched various captcha systems early last year, and this one seemed to have the best balance of functionality, flexibility, and accessibility for what I needed. There may be something better out now; I haven't really looked ever since I set this one up.

Thanks for your comment.
